Our Creative Director predicts the future

In their last issue for 2011, Australian Creative Magazine asked our Creative Director, Mark Braddock, for his creative predictions for the year ahead. This is what he had to say:

“This week I had a client ask me to visualise a logo for them that wouldn’t be used until 2044, so seeing just one year into the future shouldn’t be a problem for someone with such recognised predictive skills. But I have to admit, I have no idea what will ’trend’ this coming year; instead let me present a list of things that I hope, rather than predict, will come to pass:

  1. Flying cars – always top of any future wish list.
  2. Social Media just becomes a normalised channel and the Snake Oil salespeople of the marcoms industry move on to whatever is next.
  3. Creatives start caring more about being smart and less about being cool. Let’s get back to basics.
  4. Out: Herb Lubalin. In: Jeffery Keedy (early 90s is the new 70s).”
