Overview
Dalton are an Australia wide operation with nearly 60 years experience in the paper and distribution service.  Block has worked with Dalton on various projects including the award-winning 2011ish calendar.

Problem
In order to promote Dalton’s ‘Revive’ family of recycled paper products, Block was commissioned to develop a calendar for the year 2011.  The audience for the calendar was those within the creative and printing industries.

Solution
To celebrate the passing of time, the recurrence of trends, and the importance of protecting the Earth’s limited resources, Block turned to the hallowed treasure troves of eBay to create a calendar curated entirely from recycled calendars.

Wallpaper. The 80s. Vampires. It seems that whatever’s old becomes new again, in one form or another.

After purchasing 25 dog-eared calendars from around the globe, whose dates marry the dates of 2011, Block designed one old-yet-new calendar to promote Dalton’s ‘Revive’ family of recycled paper products.

Twelve images from 25 calendars dating from 1921 to 1983 were selected to be used in the calendar.

Outcome
Following its distribution to designers, art directors and printing professionals around Australia in January 2011, the calendar became much sort after and the demand from around the world far outstripped supply. The calendar was profiled on many major design blogs and was featured heavily in the Australian creative trade press. It went on to be highly awarded at international creative shows such as the One Show and Adfest, further exposing Dalton’s brand to the design community.
